Chapter One
“a bad start”
Here at Nazarath, the people of 3,000 like to keep most everything to themselves. Who wouldn’t want to when you live in the middle of a forest 1,000 miles in diameter? A man named James is about to experience the time of his life. Actually, it all depends on who you ask. To most people, going through the initiation to be king would be a
phenomenal experience. But to others, like James’ Big brother Spencer, an initiation would be a total waste of time.
“You are just wasting your time on that whole initiation thing, Dad doesn’t really care if you actually succeed, and he just wants to see if you are even capable.” Spencer explained!

James responded quickly, “I disagree, dad wants me to be king, I know it, and he is doing this so that he knows I’m ready.”
“Mmhhmmmmm….”
“Watch I will prove you wrong, dad does care about me.” James exclaimed
James and Spencer proceeded to find their dad. They walked down their floor, floor 23, all the way to the bottom. They left and went outside. It was a very sunny day out today, “I will prove him wrong!” James softly mumbled.
But somehow, someway, Spencer’s ears could hear it, “We will see about that.”
They proceeded through the path all the way to their dad’s house. Spencer walked up to the door, but then James hurried up and knocked on the door before Spencer could get his hand up to the door bell. No one answered.
James just barged in, you could tell he was in a needy hurry, and rushed around the house looking for his dad. He walked around the whole first floor and saw no sign of his dad, Harry. He then walked up the stairs to the 2nd and final floor.
There was his dad. Sitting on his couch, no, laying on his couch as if he had no color in his pale, white skin, no heart beat, no sign of life. James rushed over to his father.
“Dad…..Dad are you alright.”
The big gulp of air sent relief throughout the room. “Son, I need you to do me something.”
“Yes dad, anything tells me!” James replied with no hesitation.
“I need you to go to Yumazandra, I need you to go to Yumazandra and get me some medicine so I can live.”
“Tell where and what and I am gone by tonight.” James quickly, responded.
Harry Squeezed out a few more words, “Its not just any medicine though son, the medicine is a rare and dangerous medicine to encounter, it is a medicine that is within a Cyclops’s eye. The only one around here is on the Northeast edge of the forest, about 800 miles.”
James said, “OK Dad, I will go and get it, I will get it now for you, I won’t let you down.”
“Good luck son!”
James ran downstairs, and Spencer was there. James told him everything that happened, and to James’ surprise, Spencer Vouched to go with him. Both of them decided that it wasn’t safe to go all that way with just them to so they rushed to their newspaper store and told them to assemble a gathering at the grounds to see who else would go with both Spencer and James to find the Cyclops eye in Yumazandra.
At about 4 o’clock, the assembly was starting. James walked up all the way to the highest point in the stadium, where the intercom was, and started to speak, “ To all of you in Nazarath, If you haven’t already found out, my father, your king, is very ill.” gasps came from the crowd. “I and my brother, Spencer, are going to Yumazandra to go and get the medicine for him. The medicine that we need to receive is that inside of a Cyclops eye. I need to know who is willing to go with us.”
4 brave people walked down to the middle of the stadium.
“OK, you 4 people will go with me and my brother to Yumazandra. Meet me at floor 22 room 2208. Stay there and I will meet you. Thank you everyone for your time and please pray for my father, goodbye.”
The two brothers headed off, heads down, hearts drooping, and happiness flushed.
Later that night, when both Spencer and James got back to their room, the four men, as they were told, appeared at their door not but 10 minutes afterwards.
“OK now that you four are here” James announced, “Let’s get started with the plan. First off we need to all get to know each other in order to work together on this quest, because as you all may already know, it will be a vigorous, brutal, and heart aching experience throughout the time. So, let’s start with you.”
The only man that had a beard, and not to mention a long one, stood up. “My name is Joseph.”
“And why did you decide to walk to the middle of the stadium?”
“I did it, well I did it because I know what you are going through, I understand how it is be losing a loved one, the pain is terrible, heart aching, it’s as if your loved one dies, you will have nothing to live for.” the red headed man sat down.
“Ok then, you 3 what about your story, why did you decide to join?” James waited patiently with content.
All 3 of the men stood up at the same time, as if they were all tide to the same string, “ We came up because we think we are the toughest, wittiest, and best looking of all the men in this kingdom!” they all sat down in the same orderly fashion as they had stood up.
“Alright then, well I hope you 3 are right.” James said with total sarcasm as he looked at Spencer and snuck a giggle. “We will leave at dawn, we will first stop at my father’s house, get the map to Yumazandra, and we will be on our way, I will warn you all now, you chose to come, you will most likely pay the consequences, but, in the end it will be all worth it. We will be heroes. There will be many challenges, and difficulties, but together we will concur them. Everyone get good sleep tonight, we have a long day ahead of us.” All of the men stood up and exited the room without looking back.
James and Spencer went to their beds and went to sleep. But for some reason, James couldn’t get to sleep, he didn’t know if it was because of his father, because of all the pressure, of excitement? Whatever it was, it was stopping him from sleeping. After three hours of thoughts going through his head, he finally fell asleep.
Dawn came, and just as they all had planned, they met in James’ room. There is where they started their preparation. They all decided that they only were going to bring enough supplies, like food and water that they could fit into a backpack.
After they got their supplies together they then proceeded to head down to the Kings house. This time, instead of just James going to talk to his father, all six men followed him. They marched up to the 2nd floor, where James last found his dad, and sure enough there was the King, lying on the couch as if he never moved since the day before. All 6 of them walked up to his father and surrounded him.
James put his hand on his father’s chest, “Dad, wake up, I am here and ready to go to Yumazandra. I have others with me; it’s not going to only be me and Spencer Dad, There are others.”
His father’s eyes squinted open, “oh, oh my son, who are they?”
“They are the others that are going with me that one is Joseph.” He pointed to the red headed man, Joseph smiled at the king, “And these three.” James gave a little giggle, “These three are the three amigos.
His father grinned, “I am proud of you son, there is where the map lies. There in the drawer, I need you to be back in a month, if you’re not here by then, I will just have to let go son!”
James went tense, “Don’t worry father, I won’t let you down.”
All of the men exited the room, went down the stairs and left the house. And off they were, exiting off the Northeastern path and then, there was no turning back. By the time they got to the path it was 7:30.
As they got about 3 miles in, the 3 men had to make a remark, “This isn’t that bad, this whole thing will be a breeze we will be there and back in no time!”
“I wouldn’t judge a book by its cover, we are only 3 miles out of town, and there will be no dangers for another 10 or 15. Before we even get close to that, we need to make our weapons.” said James.
“Way ahead of you buddy.” Joseph exclaimed as he opened his backpack, “Unlike you guys I not only put food and water in my back pack, but I got us all pistols, and we each get 100 bullets, make it last guys.” Joseph started to pass out the guns to each person, and each person was even more fascinated.
“How did you get these?” asked Spencer.
“We don’t really need guns, we can kill with our bare hands, but, these will be our backup weapons.”
James stared with fascination, “How did you manage to get your hands on these?”
“Well, I guess none of you guys knew I was a blacksmith. All night last night, instead of sleeping I decided to make us all pistols and ammunition. There isn’t much but it’s better than nothing.
Each person gave him a nod and then proceeded in breaking branches off the trees to make spears. Then they headed on. After about 10 more miles Spencer caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye. He spotted Breakfast. Over past Spencer’s left about 100 feet was an Ork. Big, blue, and full grown. All of the men stopped in their steps.
“What do you see?” James questioned.
“It’s an Ork, right to my left, don’t move to fast it might spot us,” all of the men lowered their elevation until they were on their bellies. “Who’s taking the shot?”
Like a rush of buffalo, three men stood up and blurted out, “I will, I will, I got the shot!”
The Ork had spotted them, it sprinted towards them eying on just the three men. It was not but 20 feet from the three men when James quickly pulled out his gun, aimed it right at the Ork’s mouth, its weak spot, and fired. One shot and the Ork dropped.
“You guys could have been killed, you need to not be so eager, and be more careful, the next time that happens, I am not saving you and you three will die.”
Spencer, James, and Joseph gave them a sneer and walked away.
